Storm Scout Drops Today Inside Sonic Hours, and Nobody Has Logged a New Cheat Master Yet
Storm Scout and its Gold and Cheat Master forms go live at 2 PM ET August 29 during Sonic Hours. Session times, the ability, and what our trackers say about Thursday's Cheat Masters.
We called it wrong. On Thursday we guessed Storm Scout would wait for next week's Sprite Day. Instead Epic is folding it into today's Power Hours: from 2 PM ET on Saturday, August 29, the last launch Sprite of Override goes live in all three of its forms, riding along with a Sonic-themed rate-up. Here is what is confirmed, what is dataminer talk, and the number from our own trackers that should temper anyone's expectations about the four Cheat Masters that dropped two days ago.

Sonic Hours: the times
Two sessions, both today, both two hours:
- 2 PM to 4 PM ET
- 9 PM to 11 PM ET
That is per gamer.org and Vice, and it is the same pair of slots Golden Hours used last Saturday. During each session Sonic Sprite drop rates go up, variants included, and you spawn with Sonic Power Sneakers plus an extra Portable Extractor. The Special Hours panel already has both sessions in your local time.
Our position: the 9 PM slot is the one to play. The afternoon session collides with the OG Final Showdown live event at 2 PM ET (Beebom has the start times), and every lobby that drains into OG at 1:55 is a lobby not competing with you for Cheat Codes in Battle Royale.
Storm Scout: three variants at once
Vice reports the base Storm Scout, Gold Storm Scout and Cheat Master Storm Scout all switch on together at 2 PM ET, and gamer.org adds that they can turn up in chests and from Sprite Cheat Codes during the Sonic Hours sessions. Epic has not published its own post that we can link, so treat the "2 PM, not the 9 AM reset" detail as outlet reporting rather than gospel. If you see one in a chest before 2 PM, the reset got it first.
The ability, as HYPEX describes it: take 10 points of Storm damage and you get Overdrive with unlimited Energy - roughly 25% faster movement, better air control, lower gravity and a stronger jump. At level 5 it reveals future Storm circles. That is a dataminer's read of the numbers, not Epic's patch notes, and it makes Storm Scout a late-game Sprite by design: it does nothing until the circle is chasing you.
Nobody on Quackadex has logged one yet, which is expected at time of writing. The page is live for the moment that changes.
The Cheat Master silence
Here is the part the other outlets cannot print. Thursday's Sprite Day added Cheat Master Klombo, Shadow, Jackrabbit and Killswitch. As of Saturday morning, two full days later, the number of Quackadex collectors who have logged any of those four is zero. Not "few". Zero.
Across every Cheat Master that exists, eight accounts here hold at least one, and almost all of that is the code-redeemable set: 8-Bit and Adventure are the most common, Bush and Crown the rarest. Only one collector has logged a Klombo of any kind, and they have both base and Gold mastered. Aggregates only - we do not publish who.
Read that two ways. First, Vice's warning that Cheat Master Klombo will be the rarest Sprite in Override is holding up, and so is the trading advice: if one lands in your Locker, it is worth more than you think. Second, the six ex-code Cheat Masters joining the loot pool has not yet shown up in anyone's logs either, so either the drop rate is brutal or people are still redeeming codes instead of grinding. Give it a week before drawing conclusions.
Leak corner: the next wave
Filed as rumor, dated, unconfirmed by Epic. On August 21 Vice rounded up a set of Sprites found by @Loolo_WRLD and @FNBRintel that have not been announced: Meowscles, Squibbly, an Overshield Sprite, a Headshot Sprite with a Gold form, a Cube Sprite and a Mythic collab codenamed BodySlam. Alongside them, five variant types beyond Cheat Master and Gold: Candy, Holofoil, Hacker, Reaper and one called TrickTreat that everyone assumes is Fortnitemares in October. No dates for any of it, and Vice's own caveat is the right one: plans change before things ship.
What would confirm it: a New Sprite Day post from Epic naming one. What would not: a screenshot of a Locker tile.
What to do today
- Play 9 PM ET, not 2 PM, unless you want the OG event more than the Sprite.
- Storm Scout, Gold and Cheat Master are all live at once. Take whichever one the game offers; nobody has drop numbers on any of the three yet.
- Log what you catch on your collection the same night. The trackers above only say what people tell them.
Track your sprite collection
Quackadex records what you own and what you've mastered across every sprite and variant, and works out what's left. Open the tracker — free, no download.
