Unstable, Two Mythic Sprite Hours, and Your Last Week to Collect

Updated 11 August 2026 · 4 min read

events power hours season 3 rumors

Season 3 ends August 19 and its Sprites leave Battle Royale. The Unstable finale on August 15 is followed by two Mythic Sprite Hours boosting Zero Point and Grim - here is the schedule and what to chase first.

Chapter 7 Season 3 is nearly over. The finale event lands on August 15, the season closes on August 19, and Override starts the morning of August 20. If you are still missing Sprites, this is the part of the season that matters.

Here is the thing collectors need to sit with: your Season 3 Sprites are safe, but they are not staying in Battle Royale. Epic's official post says Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprites "will not initially remain available to use in Battle Royale," and that older generations "may return down the line." Read that twice. Your collection is preserved. Your ability to keep hunting the ones you never found is not.

Zero Point Sprite, Galaxy variant

Sprite art is Epic's. This is the Galaxy Zero Point from our catalog.

What is actually confirmed, and what is not

Worth separating, because the two are getting blended together everywhere right now.

Confirmed by Epic. Sprites continue into Override as a new generation with new powers and variants. Everything you collected in Runners moves into the Sprite Garden, stays on your Sprite Collection page, and turns up as unlocked styles on the Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling and as pilots in the Guardian Outfit. Season 3 Sprites leave Battle Royale at the flip. All of that is in the Epic community post.

Confirmed by Epic. The season itself: Chapter 7 Season 4 is called Override and starts August 20, announced with the date attached.

Community-reported, not official. The finale timings below come from a leaked schedule that outlets have been running with, including AllThings.how and FreeGameTips. Leaked schedules do slip. Treat the times as a strong signal, not a promise, and check in-game before you plan an evening around them.

The Unstable finale, August 15

The event is called Unstable and it happens at the Zero Point Stabilizer.

  1. 1:30 PM ET - damage starts getting reduced around the Stabilizer as the area is prepped.
  2. 1:55 PM ET - damage off entirely.
  3. 2:00 PM ET - the event runs. That is 11:00 AM PT and 7:00 PM BST.

Get there early. Event playlists fill, and "I will drop in at 1:58" is how people watch a finale on someone else's stream.

Two Mythic Sprite Hours, and what they are worth

This is the part that actually changes your collection. Per the same leaked schedule, two Mythic Sprite Hours follow the event:

Both are reported to boost odds on Zero Point and Grim, with better loot spawning generally.

Grim Sprite, Holofoil variant

Sprite art is Epic's. Holofoil Grim from our catalog.

Both of those are Mythic in our catalog, so the boost is pointed at the two hardest things in the game to find. Zero Point in particular only shows up in Vault and keycard Sprite Chests, which is why so many collections stop one short of complete.

If you can only make one window, take the 9 PM one. The 2 PM hour starts with the entire player base standing in the same place having just watched an event, and contested keycard chests are not where boosted odds pay off. The late window is calmer and you will open more chests per match, which is the number that actually matters.

The checklist

Four days of season left after the event. In rough order of what you will regret missing:

  1. Chase the Mythics during the boosted hours. Zero Point first, Grim second. These are the ones that do not come back easily.
  2. Fill the cheap gaps. Anything Rare or Epic you are missing is a chest away and will be gone from Battle Royale on August 20. Check what you still need on your collection or the full catalog.
  3. Trade for the rest. If someone has the variant you need and you have theirs, the trade board is faster than farming. Trades happen in-game, so leave time to actually meet up.
  4. Claim your Battle Pass tiers. Unclaimed tiers lock when the maintenance window opens. This one is not Sprite-related and it is still the one people post about afterwards.

After the flip

Override begins August 20 at 4:00 AM ET. A new generation of Sprites arrives with it, and your Runners collection moves to the Garden rather than disappearing.

We will have the new generation in the catalog as it lands. If you want to know exactly where your collection stands before the season closes, the dex marks every variant you are still missing.
