Fortnite Sprite Events: The Recurring Weekly Schedule

Mastery Monday runs Mondays from 9 AM ET for 24 hours, new Sprites drop Thursdays, and Power Hours run twice every Saturday.

Fortnite: Runners has three recurring Sprite events. Mastery Monday runs every Monday from 9 AM ET for 24 hours, doubling Sprite XP and Sprite Dust. Every Thursday adds a new Sprite or variant. Power Hours run twice every Saturday — most recently 2–4 PM and 9–11 PM ET — each with a different featured variant and its own gameplay modifiers.

What is the weekly Sprite event schedule?

EventWhenLengthWhat it boosts
Mastery MondayEvery Monday, 9 AM ET24 hours, to 9 AM ET TuesdaySprite XP, Sprite Dust, Legendary and Mythic spawns
New Sprite DayEvery ThursdayPermanent additionAdds a new Sprite or variant to the loot pool
Power HourEvery Saturday, two windows1–2 hours per windowA featured variant, plus rotating modifiers

Only Power Hour changes theme week to week. Mastery Monday's bonuses have been the same every week since Epic introduced it.

When exactly is Mastery Monday?

Every Monday from 9 AM ET through 9 AM ET the next day — a full 24-hour window, so there is no need to play at a particular hour. Epic lists four bonuses:

What happens on Thursdays?

Every Thursday brings a new Sprite or a new special variant into the loot pool. Epic has not published a specific release hour, and these arrive as permanent additions rather than timed windows — there is no need to play within a particular period.

Confirmed Thursday additions this season include the Gummy variant (11 June), the Galaxy variant (18 June), five new Sprites (25 June), the Holofoil variant (9 July), and a further Sprite and variants (23 July).

A useful pattern: a variant released on Thursday has repeatedly been the subject of that same weekend's Power Hour, giving a second chance at anything missed in the first two days.

What time are Power Hours?

Epic's own sources disagree on this, so treat the exact times with care.

Epic's evergreen schedule page states Power Hours run every Saturday at 3:30 PM and 9:30 PM ET, lasting one hour. That matched the season's launch week.

Every individual event announcement Epic has posted since 20 June, however, gives 2 PM–4 PM ET and 9 PM–11 PM ET — two-hour windows. The Gummy Hour announcement said so explicitly: each window "runs twice as long, giving you more time to find and add Gummy Sprite variants to your collection."

The likeliest reading is that the format changed after launch week and the evergreen page was never updated. The weekly announcement is the more reliable source, because it is written for that specific event.

Which variants has each Power Hour boosted?

Each Saturday event is named for what it features. These are confirmed past events, listed to show the pattern — not a forecast of what returns.

Shiny HoursSat 18 JulyBatman; Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil
Shinier HoursSat 25 JulyBatman, Pollo, Seven, Air; all four variants above
Web Shooter HoursSat 1 AugustCube variants

The naming is descriptive rather than tiered — "Shiny" and "Shinier" were consecutive weeks, the second boosting more Sprites than the first, not a permanent ranking.

Each event also carries unrelated gameplay modifiers: a Batman Grapnel Gun during Shiny Hours, a Mythic Gold Fish during Gold and Gummy Hours, the Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly during Web Shooter Hours. Those change how the match plays, not what you can collect.

What were Peeky Peely Hours, and why were they different?

Peeky Peely Hours broke the Saturday pattern in two ways, which is worth knowing because it shows the format is not fixed.

It ran daily for six days from 30 July, not on a single Saturday, and its windows were one hour rather than two: 4–5 PM ET and 11 PM–12 AM ET. It boosted the Peeky Peely Sprite and its variants.

So a Power Hour is not guaranteed to be a Saturday event at the usual times. When a specific Sprite is being promoted, Epic has used a longer multi-day run with shorter daily windows instead.

How do you know an event is live in-game?

The reliable method is to check the schedule before you play. Epic announces each week's Power Hour a few days ahead with the featured Sprite, the modifiers and the times in both ET and UTC. Epic's own advice is to "keep an eye on our socials to make sure you don't miss the Sprite you've been hunting for" — which is an acknowledgement that the details genuinely change each week.

Are Gem Sprites part of any event?

No — and be sceptical of anything claiming otherwise. Several sites describe a "Gem Hours" event with boosted Gem rates. We could not find any Epic announcement for one.

What Epic has published is a support article explaining that Gem Sprites were not yet released. Some players obtained one early through the Sprite Hunt rift anomaly; those Sprites were temporarily disabled and could not be brought into a match or resummoned, pending the variant's actual release.

Does the schedule change when the season ends?

Unknown, and nobody can honestly tell you otherwise.

These events exist to support Sprite collection, which is this season's central mechanic, so it is reasonable to expect the cadence to change or stop when the season does. Reasonable is not the same as confirmed — Epic has published nothing either way. If you are hunting a specific variant, the safe assumption is that the current schedule is not permanent.
