Treasure Hunters Sprites: Every New Sprite, Crossbones Isle and What Changes
Every new Treasure Hunters Sprite and its Cursed and Jeweled variants, the Crossbones Isle map for Sprite hunters, and what carries over from Override.
Status - Nov 1, 2026, before servers return: Treasure Hunters goes live today with v43.00. Epic had not published patch notes when we wrote this, so every claim is labelled. Confirmed means Epic's own words or art. Reported means a named outlet. Unconfirmed means we have not played it yet, so treat the number as a placeholder. We will update this page at the top as the day goes on.

Two things first, because the headline version of this story is slightly off. This is a mini-season, not a new generation: the Override Sprites you already own are not replaced. And there is a new map, which matters more for Sprite hunting than any single power in the pack. A new set of Sprites is arriving on top of both, pirate-themed, and most of them in three versions.
The short version of our position: the map changes and the drip-feed schedule are the real story for collectors. The new Sprites themselves are a mixed bag, and one of the new variants is a straight downgrade.
The new Sprites
What Epic has said: new Sprites are coming, and they arrive on the map during Captain's Days alongside new weapons, per Vice and TimeSaver's read of Epic's status feed. Epic has not published a roster, so we cannot tell you which of these land at the first Captain's Day and which are held for later ones. Where an outlet has tied a Sprite to a captain, we say so. Everything else is "not announced".
The names below are working names, built from what the Sprites are. If Epic's in-game name differs, the in-game name wins and we will fix it here. Every strip runs Normal, Cursed, Jeweled, left to right. Sprite art belongs to Epic Games.
All numbers are level 1 to level 5 and unconfirmed. Where we could not tell what a power triggers on, we say that instead of guessing. Distances are in metres, rounded.
Barrel of Fish

A grinning barrel with a fish perched on its lid. Its power is an energy regeneration effect: 5 at level 1, 11 at level 4. The level 5 value reads as zero, which looks like a placeholder rather than a nerf, so we are not quoting it.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the Cursed water penalty described below.
- Jeweled: base power plus the Jeweled pulse described below.
Coin Pile

A fanged skull sitting on a heap of doubloons. The Normal is the scariest-looking Sprite in the pack. Its power is a Gold Rush: a timed buff of 10 seconds at level 1, 20 at level 5, with roughly +40% walk and sprint speed, +50% harvesting speed and +25% pickaxe damage. What sets it off is not clear to us.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse. A red crystal skull, and the best-looking tile in the set.
Compass

A captain's hat and a compass held to its chest. It sends out an outline pulse that lasts 10 seconds. The radius grows from about 50 m at level 1 to 100 m at level 5, and the repeat delay falls from 25 seconds to 20. What the pulse outlines is not something we can state yet.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
Feed Jet

A blue snail with wandering eyes. One version only, no Cursed or Jeweled. It boosts what you pick up: ammo and materials both go from +10% at level 1 to +50% at level 5. A single-version Sprite is the easiest tile in the pack to complete, and a flat pickup boost is a perfectly decent one to carry.
- Normal: the only version.
Parrot

A red parrot in a pirate hat. A gun Sprite: reload speed goes from 1.3x at level 1 to 1.6x at level 5, plus a chance to get ammo back for free, 20% at level 1, 35% at level 3, 50% at level 5. This is the one we expect people to actually equip. Faster reloads and a coin-flip refund at max level is a straight combat upgrade.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
Peely Bones

Half Peely, half skeleton. Its power is tied to eliminations: it can show two markers at level 1 and three from level 3, within about 250 m at level 1 and about 500 m at level 5. What exactly gets marked is unresolved. The name and the range suggest a way to find fights, and that is a guess.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
Playmaker Brewery

A blue Sprite in a white durag and sunglasses, and the one with the clearest link to a captain. Beebom reports two Sprites tied to A$AP Rocky, with blue and red versions in durags, which lines up with the Normal and the Jeweled here. Reported, and a good sign this one is a Captain's Day 1 Sprite, though Epic has not said so.
Its power is a fall-landing shockwave. Damage goes from 5 at level 1 to 20 at level 5, the cooldown from 7 seconds to 5, and knockback is strong at every level.
- Normal: the blue one in the trailer, per Beebom.
- Cursed: a grey, glowing-eyed version, not shown in any outlet we have read.
- Jeweled: the red one, per Beebom.
Rook Gecko

A striped Sprite under a pirate hat. Its power is a splash: a burst of about 5 m that restores 20 health and 20 shield, on a cooldown that falls from 18 seconds at level 1 to 10 at level 5. One odd detail: at level 1 the splash looks like it can affect enemies, and from level 2 it is team-only. If that is real, a level 1 Rook Gecko can heal the person you are fighting. Unconfirmed, and worth testing before anyone relies on it.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
Squibbly

A hooded figure with glowing purple eyes, and the one that looks least like a pirate. Its power is extra loot rolls: 1 at levels 1 and 2, 2 at levels 3 and 4, 3 at level 5. What the rolls apply to is not clear to us. If it is every container, this is the best economy Sprite in the set.
- Normal: the purple-eyed version.
- Cursed: a grey version with orange eyes.
- Jeweled: a red crystal version with pink eyes.
Starlight

A purple Sprite in a nightcap, covered in stars. One version only. We cannot read what its power does, and we are not going to guess. We will play it before we describe it.
- Normal: the only version.
Treasure Chest

A cat with an eyepatch sitting in an open chest of coins. This is the Sprite in Epic's own key art above, in Jonesy's hands. Outlets disagree on what it is: Beebom calls it a mouse in a chest, and other writeups say cat. Look at the art. It is a cat.
Its power has two parts. One is no fall damage. The other is a chance-based effect, 15% at level 1 and 25% at level 5, and what it spawns is unresolved. No fall damage is worth more than it sounds on an island with cannons that launch players across the map.
- Normal: the cat in the chest.
- Cursed: a grey, glowing-eyed version.
- Jeweled: a red crystal chest.
Treasure Map

A rolled map with a crossed-out eye and a belt. It is a longer-range cousin of Compass: an outline pulse that lasts 10 seconds, with radius growing from about 60 m at level 1 to about 120 m at level 4 and 5, and the repeat delay falling from 26 seconds to 20. What it outlines is unconfirmed. If it is what the name suggests, this is the one a chest hunter wants.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
Unbothered Fish

A pale fish in an orange bow tie, entirely unbothered. A passive heal: 2 health per tick, with the tick speeding up from every 1.65 seconds at level 1 to every 0.65 at level 5. That is roughly 1.2 health a second at the bottom and about 3 a second at the top. What conditions it needs is unresolved.
- Normal: the base power.
- Cursed: base power plus the water penalty.
- Jeweled: base power plus the pulse.
What Cursed and Jeweled actually do
These two variants are new to the game, so they get their own section.
Cursed looks like a drawback, and we will say so plainly. The numbers we have point to water damage: 1 health every 2 seconds while you are touching water, with an instant hit the first time at level 1. Unconfirmed. On a map reported as smaller and wetter than Override (GameSpot, as relayed by TimeSaver), that is a real cost for a Sprite you are supposed to want. We would not equip a Cursed unless the Normal is already mastered and you need the tile.
Jeweled looks like a bonus. It adds an outline pulse: 10 seconds of outline, about 50 m radius, every 20 seconds. Unconfirmed, and what the pulse outlines is the open question.
Rarity is the part collectors care about. The drop weights point to Normal around 91% and Cursed and Jeweled about 3% each, for every Sprite that has them. Unconfirmed, but if that holds, each Cursed or Jeweled tile is roughly thirty times rarer than its Normal. That is the number to plan around, and it is why single-version Sprites like Feed Jet and Starlight are the cheapest tiles in the set.
Where to find them: Crossbones Isle
The Override map is gone. Beebom reports all of its POIs were removed, replaced by a skull-and-crossbones island called Crossbones Isle, and Vice reports it is an 80-player map. Reported by both.

Image: Epic Games - Crossbones Isle map art, as published by TimeSaver.
The twelve labelled POIs, per Beebom and Epic's map art above: Rubber Resort, The Chest, Arlong Park, Loot Lagoon, Lil Uzi's Stronghold, Lantern Landing, Cursed Cavern, The S.S. Rocky, Loguetown, Windmill Village, Plunder Port and Busy Bay.
Where the Sprite Chests are: nobody has published that yet, and we have not dropped on this map. Anyone who tells you a chest location on launch morning is guessing. What we can say:
- Epic says new treasures are hidden across the island, including a hidden "Captain X" mega chest, per TimeSaver. Its location is not stated. The name "The Chest" is tempting. That is a guess.
- New captains take over POIs through the season, per TimeSaver, so the map will keep changing. A route that works on Nov 1 may not on Nov 14. Reported.
- Cannons can launch you across the island, per Vice. With a Treasure Chest Sprite equipped that is a free ride.
- Our guess, and only a guess: Cursed Cavern is where the Cursed variants will be talked about first. Epic named it. It does not follow that it drops them.
What changed from last season's routes: everything. Our farming route guide was built on Season 3's Shattered Coast, with place names like Lifty Lodge and Sinister Strip, and none of those POIs exist on this island. It will be rewritten for Crossbones Isle once chests are mapped, so do not follow it here. What does carry over is the habit: pick one loop, run it until it bores you, and skip an empty spot rather than checking every chest twice.
The first Captain's Day starts at 9 AM ET on Nov 1, per TimeSaver. Vice lists further Captain's Days on Nov 7, 12, 14 and 21, with the chapter ending Dec 5. That schedule comes from a single outlet, so reported, and worth checking against Epic's own post.
What changed about how Sprites work
Honest answer: not much has been announced, and we would rather say that than pad it.
Treasure Hours replace Power Hours. Reported by Beebom. Vice also reports Mastery Mondays and Treasure Hours Sundays. We do not have the windows or the boosts, and the schedule is the part that matters. Until we see it, we will not call it better or worse.
New Sprites arrive in drips. This is the change we like least. A Captain's Day schedule means no one can complete the set on day one, and it splits the mastery grind across weeks. If you are chasing a full index before Dec 5, that is worse than a single drop. We would rather have the whole pack on launch day.
Cursed is a worse deal than it looks. Covered above. If the water penalty is real, Epic made the rarest tile in the pack the most annoying to use.
Nothing announced on extraction, the Pod or the Garden. We have not seen Epic announce a change to any of them for Treasure Hunters. If that changes, it goes at the top of this page.
Final Spritemare is over. The boosted event ran Oct 27 to 31 with 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust, per TimeSaver. Reported, and it is gone, so if you left dust unspent, it is just dust now.
What carries over
Short version: your collection, and especially your masteries.
Our future of Sprites explainer still holds. Epic said Sprites collected in earlier generations are immortalized in the Sprite Garden and become unlocked styles in the Mastery Pod, and that mastery is what survives a season change. A Treasure Hunters Sprite you master is a permanent addition. One you merely own is the part that is not guaranteed.
Two open questions, both unconfirmed:
- Do Override-generation Sprites keep spawning on Crossbones Isle? Nothing we have read says yes or no. We will know after a few matches and will say so here.
- What happens to Dust and Gizmos on Dec 5? Epic said they would reset at the last season flip, per the explainer. There is no statement about the mini-season ending. If you do not need the balance, spend it before then.
Rumor, labelled as one: leaker Blortzen claims the Sprite system will be scrapped when Chapter 8 starts in December, per Insider Gaming. Epic has not confirmed it, and Epic is reported to have said Sprites stay through Treasure Hunters (TimeSaver). What would settle it is Epic saying so. Until then, our advice from the Override day-one piece stands: finish masteries, because mastery is the only thing here that is permanent either way.
Also reported
Ofzen and Computing relays a leaked image of a Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku duo Sprite. That is a leak, not an announcement, and we have no art for it yet. The Miku and Teto captain is reported for Nov 14, so that is when we would look for it.
What we would do
- Run one loop on the new island, not three. Learn where the chests are before you try to farm.
- Equip Parrot or Feed Jet if you get them early. They are the two that help in any fight.
- Skip Cursed variants until you know whether the water penalty is real.
- Master what you have. Everything else on this page can change by Nov 7.
