Sprite Day, August 27: All Eleven Cheat Masters Are Loose, Storm Scout Still Isn't
The last four Cheat Master Sprites went live August 27 and the code-only six joined the loot pool. Plus the mastery back bling leak, v42.10 fixes, and Storm Scout's status.
Sprite Day came and went this morning, and the headline is simple: every Cheat Master variant is now in the wild. The last four - Klombo, Shadow, Jackrabbit and Killswitch - went live at 9 AM ET on Thursday, August 27, and the six that used to be code-only are dropping from in-match Cheat Codes too. Storm Scout is still the one everyone is waiting on. Details, the week's leaks, and what's broken below.

The four new Cheat Masters
Vice and esports.gg both have the same story: the weekly reset switched on Cheat Master Klombo, Shadow, Jackrabbit and Killswitch. You get them the way you get any variant this season - finish a Cheat Code in a match and hope. No Admin Panel code hands these out.
Klombo is the one to sweat over. The base Klombo is already a rare pull, and Vice expects the Cheat Master version to be the rarest Sprite in Override, rare enough that a lot of people will end up trading for it rather than finding one. We have not caught one yet. If you have, the trade board is going to be very interested.
The old code Cheat Masters joined the loot pool
This is the part that changes how you play. Until today, Sonic, Tails, 8-Bit, Adventure, Jonesy and Bush Cheat Masters came only from Lobby Hack codes. Vice reports all six now also drop from in-match Cheat Codes, which puts every Cheat Master in the same pool. If you never redeemed GottaGoFast or Play4All, you no longer have to - though the codes still work and are still the fastest route.
Bush is still the odd one out. Its code, GatherAndCraft, only unlocks after you have finished the Wrixel Ziggy story quest chain, per Vice's code list. Do the quests first or the Admin Panel just rejects it.
The full Season 4 code list, and the difference between a Lobby Hack and an Override Console rule, lives in the Codes panel on the Hunt page.
Storm Scout: still not out
Every tracker we checked, including Fortnite.GG and spritechecklist.net's live log, still lists Storm Scout as waiting on its own Sprite Day. Today's reset did not include it. The Storm Scout page is up on Quackadex so you can track it the moment it lands, but we have seen zero confirmed catches, and its ability (Overdrive after enough storm damage, future circles revealed at max level) is still going off the in-game description rather than anyone's match.
Our guess: next Thursday. Epic has been running one headline addition per Sprite Day, and Storm Scout is the only launch Sprite left.
Leak of the week: a mastery back bling
Filed under rumor, because Epic has said nothing. On August 24 HYPEX posted that there is a hidden "Sprite Mastery Back Bling" quest set covering Sonic, Tails, Shadow and the rest, and tied it to an unreleased back bling called "Pixel Sprite Trainer" - a retro handheld that shows the Sprites you have mastered as pixel art on its screen. That would mirror last season's Mastery Pod, and it is the strongest reason yet to push a Sprite past level 1 instead of hoarding Dust.
In the same thread of leaks, FireMonkey claimed the season ends at 112 Sprites across seven variant types, naming Cheat Master, Gold, Hacker, Gummy, Holofoil, Reaper and Trick or Treat, in roughly that order. Treat the number as his, not ours. Our catalog counts what is actually obtainable today, and that figure moves every time Epic flips a switch - which is the whole point of not writing it down.
What is broken
Two Sprite bugs are on Epic's own known-issues list for v42.00:
- Mastering Crown may not grant its Cheat Master variant. Fix is scheduled for v42.10. If your Crown is mastered and the tile on Quackadex still says no Cheat Master, that is the game, not you - hold off marking it until the patch.
- Tails leaves a persistent pulsing glow on your back that flashes harder when you aim. Epic attached a photosensitivity warning to this one. No fix date given.
Next up
Power Hours are scheduled for Saturday, August 29, per Beebom's event tracker. Times and the featured Sprite have not been announced; The Click expects a Sonic theme, which is a guess until Epic posts. The Special Hours panel will update the moment there is a real time.
