The Ironmouse Sprite Is Live: Ability, Where to Find It, and the Extraction Bug

Updated 5 August 2026 · 3 min read

Ironmouse released August 4, 2026 — what the Mythic Sprite does, where it drops, and the latest on the extraction bug (extractions appear to be registering again).

Update — August 4, 11:55 PM ET: extractions appear to be registering again. We extracted an Ironmouse ourselves and she landed in the Locker correctly. Epic hasn't posted an all-clear yet, so keep checking your Locker after extracting — but the worst of it looks fixed.

Ironmouse is out — for real this time. The Mythic Sprite went live on August 4, 2026 at 9 PM ET (6 PM PT), a date chosen for a reason: August 4 is the anniversary of Ironmouse's VTuber debut back in 2017.

The short version

Why "for real this time"

If Ironmouse looks familiar, you're not imagining it. The Sprite was accidentally shipped early on July 30, and Epic silently vaulted it a few hours later — removing it from the collections of everyone who'd found it. Players who caught it during that window had it restored when the official release arrived, so the early birds lost nothing in the end.

The extraction bug (yes, it's real)

Rumors have been flying, so here's what's actually confirmed. Epic's official Fortnite Status account announced they are investigating an issue where the Ironmouse Sprite isn't granted after players extract one from a match, alongside reports of empty Sprite Chests. Community reporting during the launch Power Hour matched: chests opening with nothing inside, and extractions where the Sprite popped out onto the ground instead of extracting with you.

To be clear about the other rumor: there's no evidence Ironmouse has been vaulted a second time. The Sprite is available — the bug is about extractions not always counting, which is a different (and more fixable) problem.

Until Epic confirms a fix:

  1. Check your Locker after every extraction. Don't assume it registered.
  2. Clip or screenshot your extraction. If grants end up being repaired retroactively, evidence of when you extracted can only help.
  3. Hold off resummoning with Dust if you're not certain your first one registered — don't pay twice for one Sprite.
  4. Don't panic-trade for one at a bad rate. If Epic repairs the grants — as they restored the July 30 early birds — the supply catches up and the panic premium evaporates.

Tracking it here

Mark Ironmouse as owned on your Quackadex dashboard once your Locker actually shows it — your tracker should reflect what you have, not what the extraction animation promised. If it vanishes on you, the trading board is where players are comparing notes, and your collection record here is your own receipt of when you marked it.

Good hunting — and may your chests be full ones.
