Fortnitemares 2026 Sprites: Trick or Treat, Vampire, Deer and the Rest
Every sprite and variant in the Fortnitemares update: the new Trick or Treat tier, Vampire, The Deer, Dumpster Dive and Spooky Dash, with what is confirmed and what is rumor.
Fortnitemares is live, and the sprite side of it is a new variant tier plus four new sprites, not a new season. Epic's October 1 update (v42.30 in the press) brings Fortnitemares 2026 to Chapter 7 Season 4, and the sprite news is narrow: a Trick or Treat variant, a Vampire, a Deer, a raccoon that digs through dumpsters, and a dash sprite. Below is every one of them, then where to hunt, then what to be suspicious about.
Status key, used throughout: confirmed means Epic said it. Reported means a named outlet or leaker said it. Rumor means neither, and we say what would settle it. We were not in a live match when this went up, so nothing here is "we caught it". When we do, the update goes at the top.

What this update actually is
Epic announced two Halloween sprites, a Pumpkin and a Vampire, and a new Trick or Treat variant, per Vice's rundown. The Vampire and Pumpkin designs reached the public when creators Evrizzle and speedsterfn were sent 3D-printed figures. The powers people quote for both come from leakers, not from Epic.
That is a smaller drop than the word "Fortnitemares" suggests, and we would rather say so than pad it. Season 4 is still Override. The Runners generation is still where it was. If you were hoping for a second generation of sprites or a map flip, this is not it.
1. The new sprites
Four sprites we can name, and one tier that sits on top of almost everything. Power descriptions below are the in-game card wording as we have it. Treat them as unconfirmed until a live card says the same.
Vampire
![]()
Power text: "Recover health when damaging an enemy." Leakers say the siphon reaches up to 50 percent of damage dealt at max level. That percentage is reported, not confirmed, and the card wording carries no number at all. Variant type: Normal. Epic confirmed the sprite exists and is a Fortnitemares sprite. Day-one or staged: expected October 1, not yet seen live by us.
Vampire - Trick or Treat

Same siphon, orange coat, candy boon on top. Variant type: Trick or Treat. Status as above.
The Deer
![]()
Power text: "Melee attacks deal more damage." That is the entire power. We think this is the weakest idea in the drop: a pickaxe-damage sprite is a niche pick in a mode where most fights are decided at range, and the Vampire does something similar with far more reach. Variant type: Normal. No Epic or outlet coverage we found mentions it, so its release timing is unknown. If it is not on a live card by tonight, assume it is staged.
The Deer - Trick or Treat

Variant type: Trick or Treat. Same caveat on timing as the base sprite.
Dumpster Dive
![]()
A raccoon. Power text: "Food provides bonus healing. Find food when jumping out of props, and a small chance when opening containers." The prop half is the interesting part, because it pays you for a habit most players already have. Its slot name sits in the same family as Pond, X-Ray and Onigiri, which were Design-a-Sprite contest winners, so it may be a fourth winner. That is a rumor: Epic has not named a designer, and a contest reveal would settle it. Variant type: Normal. Timing unknown.
Dumpster Dive - Trick or Treat

Variant type: Trick or Treat.
Spooky Dash

The odd one. Power text: "Active, mid-air jump: Spooky Dash lets you phase through some objects. Gain charges over time." The only finished art we have seen for it is the Trick or Treat version above, jack-o'-lantern grin and all; the Normal one we have seen is a plain placeholder card reading "PHASE DASH". A sprite without finished base art is not a day-one sprite, in our view. Variant type: Trick or Treat shown, Normal not yet finished. Status: staged, and a rumor that it ships this week.
Do not assume this is Epic's Pumpkin Sprite. The Pumpkin's reported power is a pumpkin head that protects you from headshots, and that is not what this card says. The only headshot-related sprite card we have seen is a placeholder reading "HEAD SHOT" in block letters, with no finished sprite behind it. So the Pumpkin we were promised is the one entry in this article we cannot show you. What would settle it: a live card with a name on it.
The Trick or Treat variant itself
Description text: "Chance to find candy when opening containers." Epic has not said what candy does. It is a variant tier, so it stacks on the other tiers (Cheat Master, Gold, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter) rather than replacing them. How you earn it is unknown. Reported: it arrives with Fortnitemares, and Gummy and Holofoil return later in the season per FireMonkey's leak.
Each Season 4 sprite below has its own Trick or Treat card art. The sprites themselves are not new, so each entry is short: what it does, then the orange version.

Adventurer - Trick or Treat

Base power: Upgrades a random item in your inventory with each level up. The Trick or Treat tier puts the candy boon on top. Variant type: Trick or Treat. Status: Epic says the tier arrives with Fortnitemares; we have not confirmed this specific card live yet.

Staged names and gaps
Unfinished or missing, not sprites you can chase. All rumor until a card goes live.
- Mega Man. A Season 4 sprite, but we have not seen Trick or Treat art for it. If it is left out, it will be the one Season 4 sprite you cannot complete the new tier on.
- Squibbly. A staged name, with a fishing-themed power that reads as unfinished. We have no working description.
- Meowscles. Another staged name with an unfinished power.
2. Where to find them
Short and honest: nothing we can point to says a sprite spawns somewhere new. No outlet we found ties any sprite to a Fortnitemares location. What changed on the map is a reskin, and it is reported, not confirmed.
- Gravegate. Reported as a spooky overhaul of The Battlewoods, with jack-o'-lanterns and cabling running through it.
- Elm Street. A new area inside Gravegate where a Freddy Krueger boss spawns.
- Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The Arcade landmark northeast of Gravegate, reported as converted into a Five Nights at Freddy's hub.
Bosses and collab hubs are where you would expect better loot, which is a guess, not a finding. If boss kills turn out to drop sprites, you will hear it from us.
The hint lines on the Dex entries are more useful than the map. Most Season 4 sprites carry "Spotted near high and mountainous areas". Blinky and Killswitch carry "Found in the world at nighttime". The four new sprites above carry no hint at all, which is another reason we think they are not fully live.
Our farming routes guide is still the route to use. It assumes the old Battlewoods, and we will update it once someone confirms a sprite in Gravegate, not before. Guessing a route onto a reskinned POI is how a guide goes stale in a day.
3. The nuances
Position first: a sixth tier on every Season 4 sprite is a completion treadmill, and Epic owes players one sentence about whether it is permanent. Cheat Master, Gold, Loot Hacker and Bounty Hunter already stack, and Trick or Treat lands across the whole Season 4 roster at once. If it is a limited-time Halloween tier, that is a deadline for collectors. If it is permanent, it is a lot more grinding dressed up as new content. We do not know which, and anyone who says they do is guessing.
- Candy is a mystery. "Chance to find candy" has no stated payoff. Rumor.
- Cheat Codes got better two weeks ago, and that is the real change for hunters. Epic's v42.20 notes put sprites of any rarity into Rare and Epic Cheat Codes, with Epic codes giving much better variant chances and Legendary codes guaranteeing a variant sprite. Confirmed, and it is still the main way to chase a tier. Nothing in the Fortnitemares coverage changes it.
- Dust, gizmos, extraction: no change reported. If Epic touched the economy this week, it is not in anything we found. We say that plainly instead of inventing a nerf.
- Sprite Garden: no mechanic change reported. A mastery reward for Season 4 is reported by HYPEX as a handheld-console back bling showing your mastered sprites as pixel art. That is a cosmetic, not a mechanic.
The good news is the Vampire and Dumpster Dive: both pay you for what you were already doing, which is fighting and looting. The bad news is a dash sprite being shown off before it has finished art of its own.
4. What carries over
Nothing in this update takes anything away. Mastery is still the permanent part of the system: how mastery works is unchanged, and our read on where sprites go from here still stands. We do not claim sprites survive Season 4, and Epic has not said they do.
For the Runners generation, our season-end collection guide is the one to keep. A new tier on Season 4 sprites does not make the older generation easier or harder to finish.
Your own progress, new variants included, shows up in the tracker once they are in the catalog. The counts there are computed from what is obtainable for you, not a number we typed.
What to watch next
- Whether Trick or Treat is permanent. Epic's word, or the card text, settles it.
- A named Pumpkin Sprite card.
- Whether the Deer, Dumpster Dive and Spooky Dash cards show up this week.
- A confirmed sprite spawn at Gravegate, Elm Street or the Pizzeria, which would let us rewrite the routes.
Horror-collab context, if you want it: the lineup is Freddy Krueger, Beetlejuice, FNAF and more.
