Cheat Code Day Is Back Today, and the Weekend's Rarest Catches Are Countable on One Hand

Updated 31 August 2026 · 3 min read

season 4 events drop data

Double Dust and XP from 9 AM ET Monday August 31, what Cheat Code Day boosts, and our tracker numbers on Storm Scout and the new Cheat Masters after Sonic Hours weekend.

It is Monday, which in Override means Cheat Code Day: from 9 AM ET today until 9 AM Tuesday, Cheat Code chests spawn more often, the codes hit harder, and everything you do with Sprites pays double. Epic has not posted this week's schedule graphic yet, so part of today runs on last week's pattern - we flag below which is which. Plus fresh numbers from our trackers on who actually caught what over the Sonic Hours weekend.

What Cheat Code Day does

GameRant's rundown of the August 24 edition, which it calls a weekly Monday event for the season:

  1. Cheat Code Sprite chests spawn more often, and codes pull higher-rarity Sprites.
  2. 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust, all 24 hours.
  3. Three extra Portable Extractors from a Daily Quest.
  4. A new Cartridge Hack and new Lobby Hacks.

One honest caveat: Epic itself has only ever announced these one week at a time, and Fragster made the same point after the first one - the weekly repeat is the outlets' read, not an Epic promise. The 9 AM reset will settle it. If today's edition brings a new Lobby Hack code, it will land on the trackers within hours; lobbyhack.com counts 22 active codes going into this morning and verifies them daily.

Either way, today is the day to spend your backlog. If you have been sitting on Cheat Codes waiting for a reason, double Dust and double XP is the reason. Mastery grinding is strictly better today than tomorrow.

What the weekend actually produced

Sonic Hours ran Saturday with Storm Scout going live mid-event. Two days later, here is what Quackadex collectors have logged - aggregates only, as always:

Our read: the new-wave Cheat Masters are genuinely rare, not just slow to be logged. When the same trackers picked up Storm Scout within 48 hours of release but show zero Jackrabbits since Thursday, that is a drop-rate signal. If one lands for you, log it and check the trade board before you shrug it off - scarcity this early is when a trade is worth the most.

The rest of the week, provisionally

Epic's stated pattern is three events a week - Monday, Thursday, Saturday. Until this week's graphic posts, the safe assumptions are New Sprite Day on Thursday, September 3 (the leaked-but-unannounced Sprites like Meowscles and Squibbly are the obvious candidates, per the August 21 leak - rumor until Epic names one) and Power Hours on Saturday, September 5. The Special Hours panel has both queued and will be corrected the moment Epic posts real details.

The Monastery portal event also runs through Wednesday, September 2 at 4 AM ET, per allthings.how - not a Sprite event, but it is the other thing ending this week.
